We follow the mercury removal protocol recommended by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology including:

• Complete physical protection of the patient before, during and after drilling in the amalgam in order to reduce mercury vapour absorption:
  

• Rinsing with activated vegetable charcoal before the procedure
  Placement of rubber dam to seal involved teeth
  Powerful evacuation of debris with suction
  Constant spraying of amalgam during drilling
  Sterile medical air to the nose
  Protective glasses and apron to protect eyes and clothing
  Vitamin C two hours after charcoal ingestion

• Clinical recommendations for the prevention of intoxication and detoxification procedures.

• Separation and ecological recycling of mercury debris at the source in order to protect the environment.
